      People often have trouble following restricted diets because they eliminate appealing and engaging flavors, making foods bland. Anyone who has to jettison or radically reduce sugar soon misses the satisfaction that sweetness on the tongue offers. To offset that loss and to encourage diabetics to stick to a reduced-sugar diet, Trang delivers a book of recipes full of the pleasant and assertive flavors of Asian cuisine. Fans of popular Chinese delicacies such as pot stickers will find several tempting versions. Indian curries come vegetarian style as well as with familiar meats. Agave syrup provides sweetness in desserts, with less sugar. Only a few of the recipes require large amounts of soy sauce and similar salty ingredients, whose side effect is to ramp up sodium beyond moderate levels. An ingredient guide inventories Asian ingredients, paying particular attention to the sort of data that diabetics require.
